Randy Landess, the new owner of R & R Golf Shop in Jerseyville, is someone who missed his home stomping grounds and his parents so much that he decided to come back and open a business.
R & R Golf Shop is marking its grand-opening week Nov. 12 through 17 at its 301 N. State St. location in Jerseyville.
Landess graduated from Jersey Community High School in 1974 and is the son of Ronald and Ramona Landess. He worked in Sarasota, Fla., in the yacht business as a broker for several years, but decided to come back home because of his parents. Randy Landess graduated in 1978 from Illinois College in Jacksonville with a degree in business administration.
“I wanted to be closer to home,” Landess said. “I am also a certified club-maker. I’m really pleased with the amount of traffic so far. It is better than I anticipated.”
On Monday, R & R will host Tour Edge, followed by Nike on Tuesday; Callaway on Wednesday; Adams on Thursday; Cleveland & Bridgestone on Friday; and certified pro golf instructor on Saturday.
